  • Catherine Harvey

    Deputy Chair

    Catherine Harvey has over 25 years’ experience as a pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical technology executive having held senior roles in corporate, medical, commercial and business development.

    Her focus during her commercial career was to bring new medicines to Australian and New Zealand patients and more broadly throughout the Asia Pacific region. Catherine has extensive experience in leading strategy development and operational improvement projects within the pharmaceutical, medical devices and medicinal cannabis industries with a core expertise in life science strategy & operations, business development and strategic transactions.

    Her broad commercial experience is underpinned by graduate qualifications in pharmacology, physiology and biochemistry, with post graduate qualifications in business law. She is a Founding Member of the Medical Cannabis Council and Graduate of AICD.

  • Professor Ken Donald AO

    Director

    Emeritus Professor Ken Donald AO has had a lengthy and illustrious career of over 40 years in medical practice, health policy and medical education. His academic contributions consisting of more than 90 published journal articles and textbooks, demonstrate his ongoing commitment to the development of research and education across a number of fields including pathology, social and preventive medicine and veterans health. Professor Donald's work with AIDS control and Veteran's health will long stand as his greatest achievements. He also represented Australia in rugby union from 1957 to 1960 and went on to manage the Australian Wallabies from 1979 to 1981.

    Professor Donald's loyalty and commitment to the health of Australians is unrivalled and this work continues today, beyond his official retirement. Professor Donald was the Director of Pathology at the Royal Brisbane Hospital and Deputy Director-General of Queensland Health. His long standing contribution was acknowledged when he was awarded the titles of Emeritus Professor at the University of Queensland and Adjunct Professor at Griffith University's School of Medicine,

    Recognised as a Queensland Great and awarded an Order of Australia in 2012, Professor Donald is very familiar with pain through a number of different roles, including his work with the Australian Cancer Society, his work in the battle against AIDS, his role with the NHMRC and long involvement with Veteran's health matters. He continues to play an active role in a range of health areas.

  • Alice Fung

    Director

    Alice Fung, a migrant from Hong Kong, is a registered Occupational Therapist, graduated with a Master of Occupational Therapy and a post-graduate certificate in pain management from the University of Sydney. She has over 20 years of experience as a clinician and consultant in disability, pain management, rehabilitation and insurance sectors. Alice is the principal in her private practice in Occupational Therapy, providing services in the Western Sydney area, mainly clients from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds.

    Alice has worked in a range of organizations, including the Department of Human Services, life insurance companies (Commonwealth Bank & BT Financial Group), and currently working as a service manager in the corporate health, rehabilitation and life insurance sector at a global insurance broker (Marsh & McLennan).

    Alice has a non-executive board of director experience in the NFP sector, bringing her occupational therapy experience, passion and contribution towards better client care by being part of the board and experience in clinical risk & governance. Alice is also an active member of OT Australia, co-chair for National Pain Management Interest Group and promote and support other peers in learning and sharing better practice in pain management for patients.

    Alice is a member of AICD, ANZIIF (CIP Affiliate), GIA (Affiliated), AICGG and OT Australia. Alice has an Executive MBA from Quantic School of Business and Technology (Washington DC, USA).

  • Renee Rankin

    Chief Executive Officer

    Renee Rankin is the CEO of the Australian Pain Management Association Ltd.
    Renee had an exciting start with APMA as a volunteer in mid-2020. Renee worked as Head of Operations, and with the dedicated team, developed the governance framework of the volunteer network, and enhanced the Human Resource functions. Renee is well known across the Pain Support Groups, Pain Link Helpline and the wider community.

    After 20 years’ working in Project Management, Risk and Customer Experience in the corporate sector, Renee moved into a community focused role with Queensland Parliament, before ultimately taking on the position of CEO at APMA.

    Renee holds qualifications in both Government and Human Resources Management. Renee brings together relationships in Government, experience in the corporate area and Not for Profits. She’s passionate about advocacy, headlining the consumer voice and investing in community development.
