Whether you contact your local Member of Parliament by email, letter or drop in, your story can make a difference to APMA, and our opportunity for federal funding.

Since 2009, the Australian Pain Management Association (APMA) has been supporting people with persistent pain across the country, largely thanks to funding from the Queensland Government.

APMA has an amazing base of volunteers and members across Queensland and other states, and receives an enormous number of requests for help from across the country. Every service we offer is free to remove barriers for the persistent pain community.

This year, APMA urgently needs funding from the Federal Department of Health and Aged Care to be able to service the increasing needs from the persistent pain community. A key goal is to make their Pain Link Helpline a live service to improve response times when people are often at their most vulnerable. The demand for Pain Support Groups across Australia is increasing and requires funding to establish and deliver a safe and supportive space for people with persistent pain.

To achieve these critical goals, we need your support. Please tell the MP representing your area and the Health Ministerial team that you believe that APMA and its Pain Support Groups and Pain Link service are critical for people across Australia living with persistent pain. You can post them a letter or email them.

Be sure to keep your letter respectful, brief and request a response from your MP or Senator. Include your name and address so they see you live in their electorate.
