APMA was established as an association incorporated to address the need for community services and representation for the estimated 3.2 millions of Australians living with pain.  APMA is the consumer health organisation for all Australians who live with pain.

APMA is your voice.

Our Aims

We aim to enhance the wellbeing of all Australians living with chronic pain through guided pain management. This is reflected in the goals of the National Pain Strategy which APMA actively supports. APMA relies on donations, fundraising and sponsorships to operate and provide services and support to people with chronic pain.

The Australian Pain Management Association Ltd. (APMA) is a company limited by guarantee and a registered health charity with the ACNC. The organisation's registered Constitution is available on the ACNC website here.

APMA provides advice, assistance and collective advocacy as the voice of Australians living with chronic pain. We work with governments, health clinicians, researchers and the community generally to deliver evidence-based pain management services and ameliorate the personal and economic impact for people living with pain.

APMA is managed by a paid Chief Executive Officer, and a team of dedicated volunteers. Volunteers perform head office support roles, to enable our team of Pain Support Group Facilitators and Pain Link Helpline Peer Guides to deliver community based services around Australia.
